him the nickname of King Bomba, because he bombarded Palermo by warships during their revolution of 1848.
Note the "Hier." in the legend/inscription. It is the Latin abbreviation for Jerusalem. The title of "King of Jerusalem" was inherited from the era of the crusades by the kings of Naples, and borne until the last.
