Whack-A-Caesar : Veni Vidi Whacky

Inspired by those wacky Roman Emperors who completely lost the plot as far as running a large empire is concerned, whether by murder, incest, delusions of immortality, making horses into senators, or having a morbid fascination with fungi culture.

There are no depths to which some emperors would not sink, and all are thoroughly deserving of a good whack on the head - although I suspect some would probably enjoy it…

Purpose of the Game

Purpose? Purpose?! There is none! Just whack as many emperors as you can for the fun of it. It's ok, they're all dead, so you can't be tossed off the Tarpeian Rock, or invited to a mushroom tasting any more.

How to Play

Whack a Caesar on the head to score points. If you miss, you lose points.

• Use the mallet to whack the heads of Roman Emperors.
• To "whack" an emperor, left-click on him with your mouse.
• The emperors will pop up at random - you will have to be quick to whack them before they disappear again.
• You gain 1 point for each hit, but lose 1 point for each miss. Your final score is worked out by subtracting misses from hits.
• There are three levels of difficulty (Easy, Tricky and Nasty). The higher the difficulty level, the faster the emperors appear… and disappear!
• If you find the music and sound FX annoying, or you are playing at work (tsk!), you can turn them off individually.

Can I download the game to play offline?

I can't stop you downloading the SWF file, but the game won't work if you do. I may make a downloadable version available in the future.

Does the game keep a high score table?

No.

Will the game ever keep a high score table?

There are no current plans to add a high score table.

I got a really high score on the hardest level, how can I let everybody else know about it?

You can't, but you can earn karma points by quietly contemplating your achievement.

Sorry, yes you do. I can't program in Java.

I keep getting ActiveX warning messages when I try and launch the game.

You're using Internet Explorer, and this is a standard message for downloading "objects" when you are surfing on a high security setting (good for you!). You can prevent this by adding this domain to your "trusted" sites (this is preferable to temporarily lowering your shields, because if you're like me, you'll forget to raise them again).
